Mega cozy wine bar in Frankfurt's "new old town". There is a large selection of wines, small snacks and a great ambience included.

Thought this wine bar was "overrated", but after my first visit I just have to leave it 5 stars. Great interior design and price-performance ratio. Exceptionally great, however, was the service staff! Had to wait 20 minutes for my colleagues and in the meantime I got attention and a Prosecco on the house: D you feel right at home. Will come again!

Very tasty wine and a good corona concept ?

Spent a very fun evening there with a few colleagues. The recommendation is that you should plan a lot of time as it is really very cozy. There is something for every wine lover and a few snacks are also provided. It is best to reserve a seat as the bar is relatively small and the demand is very high.

Highly recommended, the wait staff are very attentive and the wines and the snacks offered are very good.

One of the most beautiful places in Frankfurt's "new" old town. Dave and Robert understand their role as perfect hosts and profound wine connoisseurs, there are wines from their own winery and wines from other winemakers as well as little things from the kitchen. All in all a real favorite place, also for Frankfurters.

Since the opening of the Balthasar Ress, I visit this great wine bar almost every weekend. The ambience is beautiful and was decorated with so much attention to detail. You also get super fast and excellent service from the friendly staff. With the great variety of wine, sparkling wine etc. every wine lover will find it, but the cocktails also taste excellent. The clientele is so diverse and excludes almost no age group. Even now in such a difficult time, you can tell that the staff do their best to make the customer a pleasant experience! Anyone who has no understanding for this has apparently not noticed what is currently happening in the world. Therefore I would like to tell you the following on the way: You are really great and I always like to come to you, dear Balthasar Ress Frankfurt! ":-)

For me, the Balthasar Ress in the old town is by far the best wine bar in Frankfurt. Above all, this is due to the on-site staff. I have been a customer from the very beginning and I am really thrilled to see how Dave Müller and his team manage to focus on the customer. You just feel good and the service is super competent. I don't know of any bar where the service is so attentive - you are not sitting yet, you are already being served. I also think it's nice that the waitresses remember what you like to drink. In addition, the selection of wines and drinks is very good. The small dishes on offer also go perfectly with this. I had so many great evenings there ..... and I'm looking forward to the next ones. Keep it up!!

Here the staff is still king! There are no hygiene and corona rules! A mask requirement for the staff only applies occasionally, so you should not be surprised if more and more guests no longer visit the wine bar, the result is that it is mostly only 1/2 full and the crowd has disappeared. With the prices you can expect more, we will not come because the condition is getting worse!

I absolutely love this high-end bar! Interior is great and once the "right" personal is there, they play 90s which I absolutely love > great mood among the guests! I have to say that I do not get there pricing strategy in respect of water: sometimes I have to pay for non-bottled warer, sometimes not > I believe 5 EURs are too much though

The bartender was very nice and the wine was good. The place is tucked away I just found it by pure accident the inside is gorgeous. It’s very small but there is outside seats however if you want to escape the cold it might be a little hard if you come with a large group. Overall definitely would go again!

Nice lounge with smart barkeeper and staff. Weather you are up for a good wine or just want some delicious snacks or cocktails, all is available here.

Loved the place. Good wine, great service. Highly recommend it. This is the area of great dry German Rieslings. I can't tell if this is the best place in Frankfurt, but everything I tried I enjoyed very much. Don't forget to try their old vine options and of course GG. And yes, the view is also not bad.

Stick to the wines. I tried one of their spritzers and it was awful. A sour mess of a cocktail with no flavor. Dissapointing, and a waste of 10 euro.

PERFECT ❤️ Absolutely ideal tasting experience. The wines were of course delicious and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and courteous (ask for Robert!) Do not miss an opportunity to try their natural wines fermented with native airborne yeasts - truly unique flavors I have never had anywhere else!

Small place conveniently located in the center, new and elegant, nice decoration and wide variety of German wines. I particularly liked the sparkly rose wine, give it a try!

Nice atmosphere. Wine selection is good too; you will definitely find something. Due to the size very fast very full, but in good weather you can also sit outside. The service could be quite friendly.

Pay attention to the bill! They have been charging the double of the price (16€ instead of €8.50) for a glass of red wine. Of course I have doubled checked the wine card to be sure. The price of a glass was €8.50 (or 55€ for the bottle). They have been justifying saying that my glass was a big one. First of all I didn’t ask for a big glass, second there wasnt different in the card between small or big glass for my wine. End of the story: they didn’t say sorry at all and they gave me back €7.50 not before putting away some wine from my glass to make it smaller! You rude!
